CES 2018: Acer unveils 4 new laptops, including 'the world's thinnest' Swift 7 Ultrabook


After LGSamsung and HP, Acer has now unveiled four new laptops, including the world s thinnest laptop. The laptops are an upgrade to Acer’s Windows 10 lineups – Swift 7, Nitro 5, and Spin 3, and Chromebook 11. All four laptops will be showcased at CES 2018.
Of the four, the Swift 7 is believed to be the ‘world’s thinnest laptop’. The company has also revealed the US availability for its previously-announced Switch 7 Black Edition and Predator Orion 9000 Series.

Acer Swift 7

Acer claims that the upgraded Swift 7 (SF714-51) is the thinnest computer in the world with a thickness of 8.98mm. It is powered by a 7th generation Core i7 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. In terms of screen size, Acer has upgraded the screen from a 13.3-inch panel in last year’s model to a 14-inch display with 1080p resolution. The laptop is said to last up to 10 hours in terms of battery life. The Swift 7 (SF714-51) starts at $1,699 (Rs 107,500 approximately), and is expected to start shipping in March 2018.

Acer Nitro 5

Acer  Nitro 5 is a casual gaming laptop with a 15.6-inch display. It comes with AMD Radeon RX560 graphics, and the latest AMD Ryzen mobile processors with 4GB RAM. The included NitroSense software is supposed to offer real-time metrics for monitoring the GPU and CPU. The Nitro 5 (AN515-42) starts at $799 (Rs 50,500 approximately) and ships in May 2018.

Acer Spin 3

The Spin 3 (SP314-51) laptop has been updated with support for 8th generation Intel Core processors and has a new 14-inch full HD display. The laptop has the 360-degree hinge that allows functionality in four different modes. In terms of battery, Acer says that the laptop promises to last up to 12 hours. The Spin 3 2018 is said to launch in February starting at $599 (Rs 37,900 approximately).

Acer Chromebook 11

Acer s Chromebook 11 has a new model (CB311-8HT/CB311-8H) with up to 10 hours of battery life, fanless design, and two USB 3.1 Type C ports. It flaunts an 11.6-inch display and 4GB of RAM inside. There is also a 16GB or 32GB of eMMC storage. The Chromebook 11 (CB311-8HT/CB311-8H) starts at $249 (Rs 15,700 approximately) and ships in April 2018. It is available with touch or non-touch display and comes with Google Play support at launch.
