Facebook VR VP Hugo Barra just showed up at Qualcomm's CES 2018 press conference to share some news on Oculus Go, the $199 standalone headset announced in October. As you'd expect, it turns out that the device uses a Qualcomm processor — it's the Snapdragon 821, otherwise found in the LG G6 and the original Google Pixel.
Barra also revealed that his former employer, Xiaomi, is actually Oculus' hardware partner for the Go headset. Xiaomi is also making a China-specific variant called Mi VR Standalone, which shares the same hardware as Go. No further word on a release date for either of these products — Oculus Go is meant to come out in early 2018.
